Recruit commitments in college football means nothing. It’s all about signing on the dotted line. Even if a player signs a letter of intent and joins the program, the transfer portal can be used as option to leave their current team. LSU is battling Michigan for the services of the nations number one ranked prospect according to 24/ Sports, Bryce Underwood. On Thursday, On3 Sports reported that the Wolverines offered Underwood a four-year NIL deal worth up to $10.5 million. Underwood is currently committed to LSU, but Michigan is hoping that the offer is steep enough to flip his commitment to the Wolverines.
The intense recruitment by Michigan makes a lot of sense.

Underwood is from the state, and it doesn’t hurt to at least present a strong offer for a recruit that would address a major hole on the team right now. The Wolverines are coming off a dominant three-year run where they appeared in multiple playoff games which includes a national championship run last season. Jim Harbaugh, their former head coach, headed back to the National Football League to be hired to the same position with the Los Angeles Chargers. As of now, Underwood remains committed to joining the Tigers in 2025.
